Logan’s Story

This organization was formed in conjunction with Logan’s Peace Park following the tragic drowning of Logan Griego Krall.
The mission of this organization is to educate children & adults about water safety. The sole purpose is the prevention of the tragedy of drowning and other water related injuries. In order to achieve this goal of drowning prevention is through safety instruction, swim survival instruction CPR education & AED instruction. With the hope of providing scholarship/aid to those that are unable to obtain these lessons. To help parents, educators, caregivers, police, EMS and lifeguards to understand all our responsibility as “lifesavers” to help prevent drownings and to save lives.
Logan was my very rambunctious 4-year-old son. He and his brother had been in and around water since infancy. They were both adept in the water. He had earned pool time after having a five-star day at preschool. This was the first time Logan and seven-year-old brother Reece were left in the care of the nanny during pool time. I was away from the house for less than 30 minutes. Upon my return I found my seven-year-old son distraught on the driveway. He cried out that Logan wasn’t breathing. Logan had been pulled out of the water, but the nanny had not started CPR. It is unknown how long Logan had been in the water. I began CPR before EMS arrived; Logan was taken to a local emergency department and was then life-flighted to Omaha Children’s Hospital. Within 24 hours he was found to have suffered brain death and removed from life support. He gave hope to others through organ donation.

Drowning

DROWNING does not look like “drowning”.

It is Silent, it is Fast!
There is no splashing, there is no yelling, there is no waving.

Education

Many families are not aware that drowning is the leading cause of death for children ages 1- 4. We would like to share with families and to educate them about drowning, so their child doesn’t become a victim.

Supervision

Inadequate supervision is a leading factor in childhood drownings. Children should always be closely supervised when they are near water, even if it’s just a bathtub or a shallow kiddie pool.

Water Safety Education

Teaching children about water safety from an early age can help them understand the dangers and how to stay safe around water.

Ready to learn

Donations allow us to provide adequate educational materials and develop safety programs to end childhood drowning. A goal is to include offering no-cost survival swim lessons to families, providing CPR/AED training to parents, teachers, grandparents and caregivers of young children, and providing brochures to local city offices, schools, parks/recreation and physician’s offices to educate about water safety and drowning prevention.Morbi ac nulla vel lorem porta hendrerit in eu nulla.
